What we did
The Details
Wychwood Flooring are suppliers and fitters of premium and budget flooring for domestic and commercial use. They had a one page website with a photo of their shop front and a location map. They also used a personal Facebook account to showcase their installations. They didn't want to deal with online sales, but did want people to be aware of their shop and increase footfall.
Our challenge was to connect their website to their physical shop as well as showcase the products and services available.
We began with some initial keyword research to see how well they were doing in the search engines and if there was room for improvement. They had a fairly decent amount of visitors for their company name, and were already ranking at #1 for it. We also discovered there was a larger volume of people searching for general terms related to their products and services, which they were not taking advantage of.
During further research, we were able to identify who Wychwood's customers were, and what their competition was doing to rank well. We felt they were missing opportunities as they had no products on the website and the store had limited space to display their entire range.
Their website was not creating conversions either. We knew for certain we could improve on that. We implemented a standard ecommerce website layout, which enabled us to take advantage of individual product pages, so we could target more keywords within the search engines, and get more of Wychwood's website pages listed in the search results. We made it easier for the customers to understand they could not purchase online.
By making these changes we reduced the friction customers experienced by providing product details and how to buy.
We encouraged Wychwood to have a Facebook page for their business and to take photos of the installations they carried out and to share them here instead of on their personal accounts.
On Going Work
We continue to measure results, test and implement further changes as their market space changes. We also look for SEO opportunities while updating products as and when we are required to. We also host their website on our servers and provided them with our content manager.
